Manage an Item’s access permissions
Learn how to enable or disable access permissions for menu Items on the Merchant Portal.
Item Access Permissions are options you can toggle to make menu Items become available on Modules, as well as, add dining options such as Pick up, Delivery, or Dine-In. On the Item Access Permission page on the Merchant Portal, you can apply permission changes to menu Items individually or in bulk.
In this article, you’ll learn about the different types of access permissions and how to turn them on or off for Items.
What’s on the Item Access Permission page
Search and filters
The top of the Item Access Permission page has a search field and drop-down lists you can use to narrow down the Items in the search results.
You can also find count indicators for the following on the Item Access Permission page:
- Total Items
- Filtered Items
- Selected Items
Actions
Actions allow you to choose between enabling or disabling permissions that can apply to multiple or specific menu Items. You must select the following:
- Bulk Action: Sets an Action you can perform (Enable or Disable).
- Choose Item Access Permission: Sets the permission(s) you’d like the action applies to.
- Apply: Confirms and applies the actions for the selected permissions.
Item list
The Item list consists of the following columns:
Checkbox
- Select Items individually: Click on the checkbox beside the Item(s) you’d like to apply the permission changes to.

Select all Items: Click on the checkbox at the top to select all the Items in the search results.
If there are Items you’d like to exclude, make sure to click the checkbox next to those Items to exclude them.
Types of permissions
Application Access Permission
Application Access determines whether a menu Item appears on Modules and features, such as Photo Shuffle, that can display menu options. You can enable menu Items to appear on the following Modules and features:
- User Application
- Photo Menu
- Website
- Digital Menu
- Photo Shuffle
Website Permissions
Website Permissions allow you to add dining options for customers when they visit the Branded Website.
- Enable Pickup
- Enable Delivery
- Enable Dine-in
Availability
When enabled, the All You Can Eat Menu access permission allows the menu Item to be available for All You Can Eat customers.
Turn on or off permissions for an Item
To enable or disable permission(s) for single or multiple Items simultaneously, follow the steps below:
Merchant Portal (Classic Theme)
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Menu Setup. Then, click on Item Access Permission.
- Click on Bulk Action, then choose whether you’d like to enable or disable the permissions for an Item.
- Click on Choose Access Permission, then choose all of the permissions you’d like to enable or disable for an Item.
- On the left panel of the Item list, click on the checkbox beside the Item you’d like to apply the permission changes to.
Note: To select all Items, at the top left, click on the checkbox beside Item. To select multiple Items, click on the checkboxes for the Items you’d like to include. - Once you’ve selected both Bulk Action and Access Permission and have chosen all the Items you’d like to apply the permission changes to, on the permission applicator, click on Apply.

- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Menu Setup. Then, click on Item Access Permission.
- Click on Bulk Action, then choose whether you’d like to enable or disable the permissions for an Item.
- Click on Choose Access Permission, then choose all of the permissions you’d like to enable or disable for an Item.
- On the left panel of the Item list, click on the checkbox beside the Item you’d like to apply the permission changes to.
Note: To select all Items, at the top left, click on the checkbox beside Item. To select multiple Items, click on the checkboxes for the Items you’d like to include. - Once you’ve selected both Bulk Action and Access Permission, and have chosen all the Items you’d like to apply the permission changes to, on the permission applicator, click on Apply.
