Create a custom Merchant Portal role (Food Court)
Learn how to create a new portal role for food court restaurants and configure the permissions available to staff members in the Merchant Portal.
Portal roles define the level of access that staff members have within the Merchant Portal. By default, the system includes four preset portal roles:
- Merchant Staff
- Merchant Admin
- Group Admin
- Organization Admin
Each preset role includes a predefined set of permissions that cannot be modified. If the default roles do not meet your requirements, you can create a custom portal role and configure its permissions based on the level of access you want to grant to staff members.

Create a new portal role for food court
To create a new custom portal role, follow the steps below:
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- At the top, click on the "Group" drop-down button and select the group where the role will be available.

- Under "Shop," select the applicable food court restaurant.

- On the left panel, click on Staff
Portal Roles. - At the top right, click on +Add Role.

- Enter the role name.
Note: Once saved, the role name can no longer be modified. - Next to "Vendor," select the vendors to which the role can be assigned.

- To activate the role, enable Active
.
- Next to each setting, enable the toggle
to grant staff access to the corresponding feature. Then, select the appropriate checkboxes to configure the permissions you want to assign to the staff member.
- Click on Save to confirm.
