    Adyen S1F2 Payment Terminal

In this article, you'll learn how to complete the S1F2 terminal setup, test the terminal and POS connection, and access terminal settings after setup.

    Before you start

    Check the hardware contents

Before initiating the setup, check that your S1F2 terminal has complete inclusions:

    • S1F2 payment terminal
      • S1F2: standard version
      • S1F2L: built-in barcode scanning camera
    • USB cable and region-specific power plug for charging
    • eSIM card
    • Receipt paper roll
Tip: To order new paper rolls, open the Adyen Customer Area. Under "In-person payments," select Orders and returns and place your paper roll order.

    Inspect the terminal

Payment terminals handle sensitive cardholder data. Before use, ensure that the terminal you receive is the correct device supplied by Adyen and that it shows no signs of tampering or unauthorized modification. To do this, follow the steps below:

    1. Check if the shipping box containing the terminal has not been opened. The tamper-evident security packing tape should be intact.
    2. Check your order information.
      1. Log in to the Adyen Customer Area. Then, navigate to In-person paymentsOrders and returns and find the order for your terminal.
      2. Verify that the serial number (S/N) printed on the box is the same as in the Customer Area.
      3. Use the “Track & Trace” link to check the shipment status with the carrier and confirm that the payment terminal has been successfully delivered.
    3. Remove the payment terminal from the box and confirm that the serial number (S/N) on the device matches the serial number printed on the box.
    4. Inspect the terminal for signs of tampering. Check for missing screws, additional wires or labels, holes in the device, and anything inserted in or attached to any part of the terminal.

If you find any issues with the payment terminal, contact Eats365 for assistance.

    Set up the S1F2 terminal

Once you've verified that there are no issues with the payment terminal, you may proceed with the hardware setup. To configure the S1F2 for the first time, follow the steps below:

    1. Insert the receipt paper roll. Refer to "Step 1. Insert the paper roll" below for instructions.
    2. Power on the S1F2 terminal. Refer to "Step 2. Power on the terminal" below for instructions.
    3. On the "Welcome" screen, select your language.
    4. Connect the payment terminal to your network. Refer to "Step 3. Connect the terminal to your network" below for instructions.
    5. On the "Confirm store" screen, tap the check mark button to assign the terminal to your store. If the store that appears on the screen is not your store, use the edit button to change it.
Note: If the "Confirm store" screen doesn't show, wait until the next synchronization with the Adyen platform and try again. The synchronization may take up to 3 hours.

When you have completed these steps, you are ready to process 365pay payments through the Eats365 POS.

    1. Insert the paper roll

To place the receipt paper roll inside the payment terminal, follow the steps below:

Important: Always use the charging cable and the region-specific power plug provided with the device.

To turn on the power terminal, follow the steps below:

    2. Press and hold the power button until the display turns on.

    USB-C charging cable usage guidelines

To maximize the usage of the USB-C charging cable and prevent its damage, follow the care instructions below:

    • Hold the end that connects to the terminal or the power plug when inserting or removing the USB-C charging cable.
    • Avoid inserting or removing the USB-C charging cable at an angle. Always connect and disconnect the cable straight in and out to prevent damage to the port.
    • Do not bend or fold the USB-C charging cable.
    • Handle the USB-C charging cable with care. Do not use excessive force to insert or remove the USB-C charging cable.
    • Inspect the USB-C charging cable and the USB-C socket on the terminal for foreign objects.
    • If the terminal operates in areas of high humidity, dust, or food residue, consider getting a charging station to prevent the charger from being exposed to food, liquid, or dirt.

    Delete

Note: Terminals boarded before 2022 may not have an active eSIM card if a card subscription was not initially set up.

    Replace a physical SIM card

If you're using an old or defective physical SIM card and need to replace it, follow the steps below:

    1. Turn off the payment terminal. Refer to "Turn off the F1S2 terminal" below for further instructions.
    2. Once properly turned off, on the back of the terminal, press the cover and slide it downwards.

    5. Install the new SIM card into the same slot.
    6. Reinstall the battery and the cover. Make sure the contacts align and that it clicks into place.
