Configure a receipt printer for tables

Learn how to configure a receipt printer print receipts for specific tables.

When orders are placed with the POS, the customer receipt is automatically sent to the receipt printer it’s paired with. When orders are placed on other Eats365 Modules, such as mPOS, PhotoMenu, or the Scan to Order feature, you can specify a corresponding receipt printer for each table using the Table Partitions function. Additionally, you can also specify the printing types supported by each printer. In this article, you’ll learn how to set a receipt printer to a table and set the printer’s supported printing types.

Practical example

Setup

In this example, you have 1 POS, 2 printers, 2 PhotoMenu devices, and 2 Tables:

  • POS A is paired with Printer A.
  • Printer A is POS A’s currently paired printer, and the POS system’s default printer.
  • Printer A is assigned to Table A.
  • PhotoMenu A is stationed at Table A.
  • POS B is paired with Printer B.
  • Printer B is POS B’s currently paired printer.
  • There’s no printer currently assigned to Table B.
  • PhotoMenu B is stationed at Table B.
  • Bill/Receipt is set as the only supported printing type of both Printer A and B.

Expected result

  • If a print job from PhotoMenu A comes in, Printer A will accomplish the print job since Printer A is assigned to Table A and PhotoMenu A is stationed at Table A.
  • If a print job is made from PhotoMenu B, and given that there’s no printer assigned to Table B, the default printer will accomplish the print job. In this case, Printer A will.
  • Printers A and B will only print bills and receipts.

Note: Orders made on the POS: If you have multiple printers, the orders will be sent to the currently paired printer. This is labeled “Local” in the printer setup settings.

Assign a printer to a specific table

To configure the corresponding receipt printer for a table, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS.
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Printer Setup, then choose a connected printer.
  4. At the top, tap on the Table Partitions tab and select the tables where you want this printer to print customer receipts for.
  5. To select all tables, place a check mark beside the Select all tables in this area option.
  6. Tap Save to confirm.

Once the steps are completed, the printer becomes responsible for printing customer receipts for the selected tables. The default printer prints the customer receipts of orders from tables that aren’t specified under the Table Partitions tab. For more information, refer to the “Specify the supported printing types of a printer” section below.

Important:

  • This feature only applies to orders from other Modules such as mPOS, PhotoMenu, and the Scan to Order feature. This doesn’t apply to POS orders.
  • Each table can only be assigned one printer.

Specify the supported printing types of a printer

To manually choose the supported printing types of a printer, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS.
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Printer Setup, then choose a connected printer.
  4. Under Supported Orders, turn on Print Orders from All Sources or turn it off  to separately choose the applicable printing types based on order type.
  5. Tap the checkbox of the printing types that you’d like to allow on the selected printer.
  6. At the top right, tap Save to confirm.

Once you’ve specified the supported printing types of the printer, the printer will then only accomplish a print job if it’s of a supported printing type.
