Migrate to Discount 2.0
Learn how to upgrade your restaurant’s discounts feature to the new and improved Discount 2.0.
Introducing Discount 2.0, a more flexible and improved discounting structure for your restaurant. While the existing discount feature (now termed Discount 1.0) remains accessible, upgrading to Discount 2.0 and migrating your current discounts is necessary to benefit from new functionalities and enhanced discount management capabilities.
In this article, you’ll learn how to perform the migration from Discount 1.0 to Discount 2.0.
Before you start
Key considerations for migration
- Not reversible: Upgrading the discounts feature from Discount 1.0 to Discount 2.0 is irreversible. Once you’ve migrated to the new system, you can no longer go back to the old system.
- Organization-wide change: The migration applies to the whole organization. If the restaurant you want to upgrade the discount feature for is part of an organization with multiple restaurants, it’s important to ensure all stakeholders agree with the upgrade before proceeding.
- Recreating Menu Templates: If you have Menu Templates with discounts created using the Discount 1.0 structure, you must convert them using the Discount 2.0 structure after migration and adjust the template as needed.
To learn about what happens to your discount setup after migrating to Discount 2.0, refer to Compare Discount 1.0 and Discount 2.0 functions.
Requirements to upgrade
Before you can initiate the migration, you must first complete the requirements below. Once done, you can then get started on the migration process.
