Set up Service Charge

Learn how to set up a service charge rate that you can add to the customer’s total bill on the Eats365 POS or on the Merchant Portal.

Service Charge settings allow you to set the service charge rate and the calculation methods to determine when the service charge applies to an order.

To set up Service Charge, follow the steps below:

Eats365 POS

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS.
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under Settings, tap Service Charge.
  4. Turn on Enable Service Charge .
Note: You won’t be able to set a service charge if this setting isn’t turned on.
  5. Select the Calculation Method.
    • Select Calculate before discount if you want the service charge to be calculated before applying any discount to the total bill.
    • Select Calculate after discount if you want the service charge to be calculated after all discounts have been applied to the total bill.
  6. Enter the Service Charge Rate.
Tip: If you’ve already created a Tax Group with the same rate as the service charge that you want to add, you can add a Tax Group to the service charge instead.
  7. If you want the service charge to apply during certain hours only, tap Edit Time Slot, then select the day and time when you want the service charge to apply.
  8. If you want the service charge to apply to all orders automatically, turn on Auto Apply .
  9. To set service charge to automatically apply when a party size reaches a specific number, turn on Large Party Only . Then, enter the party size when the service charge would apply.
    Note:
    • You must turn on Auto Apply first before you can turn on Large Party Only.
    • When Large Party Only is turned on, and you’ve set the service charge to apply to a specific party size only, service charge won’t apply to tables with less than the set party size. For example, if you’ve set the service charge to apply to a party size of five persons or more, tables with four persons or fewer won’t have service charge added to their bill.
  10. At the top right, tap Save to confirm.
