“Discount 2.0” provides a comprehensive system for creating, organizing, and customizing discounts tailored to your restaurant’s specific needs. Key features include:

• Easy Management: Utilize folders and tags to organize your discounts efficiently. 
• Automation: Automate discount selection and application to orders for streamlined processing.
• Control: Define which discounts can be combined within a single order.
• Platform Compatibility: Apply discounts via the POS or the Branded Online Store, depending on your configuration.

In this article, you’ll learn how to set up the necessary discount features and learn about the discount types that you can create using Discount 2.0.

Before you start

• Ensure your discount settings have been migrated to the new “Discount 2.0” on the Merchant Portal. For more information about discount migration, refer to Migrate Discount 2.0. 
• Discount 2.0 is supported on the POS version 2.73 or later.
• Creating a discount using Discount 2.0 is currently only available on the Merchant Portal 2.0.

Create a discount folder

“Discount Folder” helps you organize discounts into categories for easier management and improved searchability.

To create a discount folder, follow the steps below: 

1. Log in to the Merchant Portal.
2. On the left panel, click on DiscountDiscount Folder.
3. At the top right, click on + Create New Discount Folder.
   
4. Enter the discount folder name. 
   • To add a discount folder name in another language, click on the respective language tab and enter the alternate name. 
     
5. Click on Create Folder to confirm.

Create discount tags

“Discount Tags” allows you to associate tags and keywords with your discounts to easily search for them on the Eats365 POS. 

To create a discount tag, follow the steps below: 

1. Log in to the Merchant Portal.
2. On the left panel, click on DiscountDiscount Tags.
3. At the top right, click on + Create New Discount Tag.
   
4. Enter the tag name.
5. To automatically activate the discount tag upon creation, enable Active.
   
6. Click on Create New Tag to confirm.

Discount Types

There are several types of discounts that you can create on the Discount 2.0. 

• Order Discount - Applies a discount to the entire order. For example, “10% off orders over $100.” For more information about order discounts, refer to Create an order discount.
• Item Discount - Applies a discount to specific items. For example, “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” on selected items. For more information about order discounts, refer to Create an item discount.
• Bundle Discount - Automatically applies when a specific combination of items is included in an order. For more information about bundle discounts, refer to Create and manage Bundle Promotions.
• Zero-Value Discount - A discount with no monetary value, used for tracking purposes. Examples include tracking third-party discount coupons or offering “Free Parking.” For more information about zero-value discounts, refer to Create a zero-value discount.
