Set up and manage Tier Pricing Rules

Learn how to create and manage Tier Pricing Rules in the Eats365 POS app or on the Merchant Portal.

Tier Pricing Rules allow you to define different pricing rules for menu Items based on specific periods or conditions. A popular use for this feature is setting specific Tier Prices for specific holidays, Tier Prices for delivery platforms like foodpanda or Deliveroo, or Tier Prices during specific periods like Happy Hour. 

In this article, you’ll learn how to create, edit, and delete a Tier Pricing Rule.

Add a Tier Pricing Rule

There are two ways to create a Tier Pricing Rule. You can create Tier Pricing Rules from the Item creation menu setting or the Tier Pricing Rules option within Menu Setup.

To add a Tier Pricing Rule, follow the steps below:

Eats365 POS

Add a Tier Pricing Rule within Menu Item creation

You can create a Tier Pricing Rule whenever you create a Single or Combo Menu Item.

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Item.
  4. At the top right, tap Add Item. Then choose either Single Item or Combo Item.
  5. At the bottom of the page, under Tier Prices, choose + Add Tier.
    Tip: If you have an existing Menu Item with the same Tier Pricing Rules you’d like to add, you can copy the Tier Pricing Rule instead by selecting Import from another item.
  6. To create a new Tier Pricing Rule, select New Tier.
  7. Enter your preferred Tier Name and Tier Code.
  8. Under Included Rule, turn on  your preferred rules.
  9. Tap New Period and enter your preferred Period Name and Period Code.
  10. Under Time Slot, choose your preferred time slot and enter the following information:
    • Define by Week: Set the time and date that the period covers.
    • Define by Date Group: This is an enterprise feature where you can define specific dates.
  11. Tap Continue to confirm.

Add a Tier Pricing Rule in Menu Setup

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Tier Pricing Rules.
  4. At the top right, tap Add Tier.
  5. Enter your preferred Tier Name and Tier Code.
  6. Tap Included Rule, then tap Add Rule.
  7. Select an existing Period or choose New Period.
    Note: You can include more than one period in any Tier Price.
  8. Enter your preferred Period Name and Period Code.
  9. Under Time Slot, choose your preferred time slot and enter the following information:
    • Define by Week: Set the time and date that the period covers.
    • Define by Date Group: This is an enterprise feature where you can define specific dates.
  10. Tap Add, then go back to the previous screen.
  11. Tap Save to confirm.

Tip: To switch themes, at the top right, click on the account name. Then, select Experience Merchant Portal 2.0.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal. 
  2. Click on Menu Setup. Then, under Tier Pricing Preset, click on Tier Pricing.
  3. At the top right, click on +Tier.
  4. Enter your preferred Tier Price Name and Tier Code.
  5. Select an existing Period or choose +Add New Period.
    Note: You can include more than one period in any Tier Price.
  6. Enter your preferred Period Name and Period Code.
  7. Set the time and date that the period covers, then click on Add.
  8. Click on Save to confirm.

Tip: To switch themes, at the top right, click on the account name. Then, select Back to Classic Theme.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal. 
  2. On the left panel, click on Menu Setup.
  3. Click on Tier Pricing Preset and select Tier Pricing.
  4. At the top right, click on +Tier.
  5. Enter your preferred Tier Price Name and Tier Code.
  6. Select an existing Period or choose +Add New Period Rule.
    Note: You can include more than one period in any Tier Price.
  7. Enter your preferred Period Name and Period Code.
  8. Set the time and date that the period covers, then click on Save.
  9. At the top right, click on Save to confirm.

Add a Period

A Period is a time range that can define specific restaurant time operations. For example, Breakfast Period, Lunch Period, Happy Hour, Dinner Period, and so on.

To add a Period, follow the steps below:

Eats365 POS

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Tier Pricing Rules.
  4. Under Rules, tap Period. Then, at the top right, tap Add Period.
  5. Enter your preferred Period Name and Period Code.
  6. Under Time Slot, choose your preferred time slot and enter the following information:
    • Define by Week: Set the time and date that the period covers.
    • Define by Date Group: This is an enterprise feature where you can define specific dates.
  7. Tap Add, then go back to the previous screen. 
  8. Tap Save to confirm.

  2. Click on Menu Setup. Then, under Tier Pricing Preset, click on Period Rule.

  4. Enter your preferred Period Name and Period Code.
  5. Set the time and date that the period covers.
  6. Click on Save to confirm.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal. 
  2. On the left panel, click on Menu Setup.
  3. Click on Tier Pricing Preset and select Period Rule.

  5. Enter your preferred Period Name and Period Code.
  6. Set the time and date that the period covers.
  7. Click on Save to confirm.

Add a Custom Rule

A Custom Rule allows you to set specific Tier Prices based on specific conditions. For example, you can create a Custom Rule for delivery platforms like Deliveroo or foodpanda. If an order is made through the delivery platform, the menu Item’s price is adjusted automatically.

To add a Custom Rule, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Tier Pricing Rules.
  4. Under Rules, tap Custom Rule. Then, at the top right, tap Custom Rule.
  5. Enter your preferred Rule Name and Rule Code.
  6. Tap Save to confirm.

Edit a Tier Pricing Rule

To edit a Tier Pricing Rule, follow the steps below:

Eats365 POS

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Tier Pricing Rules.
  4. Tap the Tier that you want to edit.
  5. Update the Tier Name and Tier Code, and the Period.
  6. Tap Save to confirm.

Tip: To switch themes, at the top right, click on the account name. Then, select Experience Merchant Portal 2.0.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal.
  2. Click on Menu Setup. Then, under Tier Pricing Preset, click on Tier Pricing.
  3. Next to the Tier Pricing Rule that you want to edit, click on Edit .
  4. Update the Tier Name and Tier Code, and the Period.
  5. Click on Save to confirm.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal. 
  2. On the left panel, click on Menu Setup.
  3. Click on Tier Pricing Preset and select Tier Pricing.
  4. Next to the Tier Pricing Rule that you want to edit, click on Edit .
  5. Update the Tier Name and Tier Code, and the Period.
  6. Click on Save to confirm.

Edit a Period

To change a Period, follow the steps below:

Eats365 POS

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Tier Pricing Rules.
  4. Under Rules, tap Period.
  5. Next to the Period that you want to edit, tap the three dots, then tap Edit .
  6. Update the Period details.
  7. Tap Update to confirm.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal. 
  2. Click on Menu Setup. Then, under Tier Pricing Preset, click on Period Rule.
  3. Next to the Period Rule you want to edit, click on Edit .
  4. Update the Name and Code, and the Period.
  5. Click on Save to confirm.

Tip: To switch themes, at the top right, click on the account name. Then, select Back to Classic Theme.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal. 
  2. On the left panel, click on Menu Setup. 
  3. Click on Tier Pricing Preset and select Period Rule.
  4. Next to the Period Rule you want to edit, click on Edit .
  5. Update the Name and Code, and the Period.
  6. Click on Save to confirm.

Edit a Custom Rule

To change a Custom Rule, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Tier Pricing Rules.
  4. Under Rules, tap Custom Rule.
  5. Tap the Custom Rule that you want to edit.
  6. Update the Custom Rule details.
  7. Tap Update to confirm.

Note: You can only delete a Tier Pricing Rule if there are no Menu Items that use the Tier Pricing Rule.

To remove a Tier Pricing Rule, follow the steps below:

Eats365 POS

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS.
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Tier Pricing Rules.
  4. Tap the Tier that you want to delete.
  5. At the top right, tap Delete.
  6. Tap Delete to confirm.

Tip: To switch themes, at the top right, click on the account name. Then, select Experience Merchant Portal 2.0.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal.
  2. Click on Menu Setup. Then, under Tier Pricing Preset, click on Tier Pricing.
  3. Next to the Tier Pricing Rule you want to delete, click on Delete.
  4. Click on OK to confirm.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal. 
  2. On the left panel, click on Menu Setup. 
  3. Click on Tier Pricing Preset and select Tier Pricing.
  4. Next to the Tier Pricing Rule you want to delete, click on Delete.
  5. Click on Confirm.

Note: You can only delete a Period if there are no Tier Pricing Rules that use the Period.

To remove a Period, follow the steps below:

Eats365 POS

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Tier Pricing Rules.
  4. Under Rules, tap Period. 
  5. Next to the Period that you want to delete, tap the three dots, then tap Remove .
  6. Tap Delete to confirm.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal.
  2. Click on Menu Setup. Then, under Tier Pricing Preset, click on Period Rule.
  3. Next to the Period that you want to delete, click on Delete.
  4. Click on OK to confirm.

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal. 
  2. On the left panel, click on Menu Setup.
  3. Click on Tier Pricing Preset and select Period Rule.
  4. Next to the Period that you want to delete, click on Delete.
  5. Click on Confirm.

Delete a Custom Rule

To remove a Custom Rule, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under General, tap Menu Setup. Then, select Tier Pricing Rules.
  4. Under Rules, tap Custom Rule.
  5. Tap the Custom Rule you want to delete.
  6. At the top right, tap Delete.
  7. Tap Delete to confirm.

Enable Tier Override Quick Key

The Tier Override Quick Key allows you to select Tier Rules regardless of the conditions you’ve originally set. For example, you may have an existing Tier Price for “Lunch Period” but the time is already past lunch time, the Tier Override allows you to select the “Lunch Period” Tier Price regardless.

To turn on Tier Override Quick Key, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Eats365 POS. 
  2. At the top left, tap Settings .
  3. Under Advanced Settings, tap System Preferences. Then, turn on Tier Override Quick Key .
  4. At the top right, tap Save to confirm.

To use the Tier Price Override Quick Key, at the top of the Table Map screen or from the order-taking screen, tap the Tier Price Override Quick Key . Then, select a Tier Pricing Rule to apply to the order.
