Set up Beverage Container Return Scheme (Singapore)
Learn how to enable automatic beverage container deposits for Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS) compliance on the Merchant Portal.
In Singapore, food and beverage operators must comply with the Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS) environmental regulation by charging a mandatory $0.10 deposit for every eligible beverage beverage container provided in an order. Customers can redeem their deposit refund when returning eligible containers to designated facilities. For more information about the Beverage Container Return Scheme regulation, you may check your local BCRS documentation.
The automatic BCRS deposit applies to beverage orders placed through your Branded Online Store website and integrated third-party online ordering platforms, such as Foodpanda and GrabFood. Container quantities must be configured at the menu item level to accurately reflect the number of eligible containers included with each item. For example, a single bottled beverage incurs one deposit charge ($0.10), while a promotional bundle of three drinks incurs three deposit charges ($0.30).
In this article, you'll learn how to enable BCRS for your restaurant, assign container counts to individual menu items, and sync these updates to integrated online ordering platforms.
