Set up Takeout settings
Learn how to set up and change Takeout settings on the Eats365 POS or the Merchant Portal.
Takeout settings allow you to customize how the POS works when on Takeout view.
In this article, you’ll learn how to configure your restaurant’s takeout and delivery workflow and settings on the Eats365 POS or on the Merchant Portal.
Set up or manage Takeout settings
To set up or manage your Takeout settings, follow the steps below:
Eats365 POS
- Log in to the Eats365 POS.
- At the top left, tap Settings
.
- Under Settings, tap Takeout.
- Set up your preferred Takeout settings.
- At the top right, tap Save to confirm.
Below is the list of settings that you can set up and manage on the POS:
General
Service Boundary
Set a limit on the allowed delivery distance.
Enable Delivery Fee
When enabled, the POS automatically calculates the delivery charge based on the order amount. You can set a standard delivery fee or set a delivery fee for different order amounts and distances.
Suggested Tip
Set a suggested tip amount.
DeleteWorkflow Settings
Pickup Order
Tickets will be sent to the kitchen based on the duration you set under Pickup Preparation Time. You may also set rules under Conditional Order Preparation Time. The following rules can be applied:
- Operation Time Slot - Sets the date and time when the specific preparation time is applied. For example, you may create a rule where every lunch period, the preparation time for orders meant for pick-up is shorter and set to 5 minutes.
- Order Total - Sets a range based on the order total when the specific preparation time is applied. For example, you may create a rule where orders totaling to $100 would require a longer preparation time due to having more menu Items to prepare.
Delivery Order
Tickets will be sent to the kitchen based on the duration you set under Delivery Preparation Time. You may also set rules under Conditional Order Preparation Time. The following rules can be applied:

Complete Order
Auto Complete Order when Paid
The Auto Complete Order when Paid option controls whether the takeout order becomes Completed or remains as Paid after the check is paid. Turn this setting on if you want to auto-complete the order after payment.
Return Home after Payment Processing
When enabled, the POS automatically returns to the order-taking screen after payment. If you turn the setting off, the POS stays at the payment screen so you can perform other actions, like making a tip and printing a receipt.
Require Payment when Placing Order
This setting disables the Confirm button on the POS. When enabled, all orders automatically require payment.
Order
Force Enter Party Size
When enabled, you’ll be able to force enter a party size on the POS.
Delivery Order displayed on Pickup Display
When enabled, delivery orders will be displayed on the Pickup Display.
Auto Add Item when enter party size
Auto Add Item automatically adds an Item to every open check. For example, if you are at a bar, you might want to automatically add peanuts to every order.
Pre-Order
Treat Mid-night Orders as Same Day Order
Allows you to accept pre-orders past midnight and still make the system recognize the order as being made on the same day.
Next Operation Period Pre-Order
Refers to advance orders customers can make for the next operation period. You can set the following settings:
- Allow Next Operation Period Pre-Order
- Allow Pickup Order
- Allow Delivery Order
- Maximum Days in Advance
- Interval on Selection (mins)
- Order Time
- Earliest Order Time
- Latest Order TIme
User App Settings
Allow User App to place Pickup Order
Allows users to place Pickup orders from the Eats365 User App.
Allow User App to place Delivery Order
Allows users to place Delivery orders from the Eats365 User App.
Allow User App to Pre-order
Allows users to pre-order from the Eats365 User App.
Allow Next Operation Period Pre-Order
Allows users to place Next Operation Period Pre-Order.
DeleteMerchant Portal (Classic Theme)
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- Under Restaurant Settings, select Takeout.
- Set up your preferred Takeout settings.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.
Below is the list of settings that you can set up and manage on the Merchant Portal:

User App Pickup Order
Allows users to place Pickup orders from the Eats365 User App.
User App Delivery Order
Allows users to place Delivery orders from the Eats365 User App.
User App Pre-order
Allows users to pre-order from the Eats365 User App.
User App Delivery Service Matching Failed
Allows the user app to auto void the customer's order when delivery service matching fails.
User App Next Operation Period Pre-Order
Allows users to place Next Operation Period Pre-Order from the Eats365 User App.
DeleteMerchant Portal 2.0
- Log in to the Merchant Portal.
- On the left panel, click on Restaurant Settings.
- Click on Takeout. Then, select a Takeout setting. Note: A drop-down list shows the three main settings you can configure which include General, Workflow, and Online Ordering.
- Set up your preferred Takeout settings.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.

Online Ordering
Online Pickup Order
Allows users to place Pickup orders from the Eats365 User App.

Allows the user app to auto void the customer’s order when delivery service matching fails.
Pre-order
Allows users to pre-order from the Eats365 User App.
Next Operation Period Pre-Order
Allows users to place Next Operation Period Pre-Order from the Eats365 User App.
