Set up Takeout settings
Learn how to set up and manage Takeout settings on the Eats365 POS or the Merchant Portal.
Takeout settings allow you to customize how the POS works when on the Takeout view.
In this article, you’ll learn how to configure your restaurant’s takeout and delivery workflow and settings on the Eats365 POS or on the Merchant Portal.
Set up or manage Takeout settings
To set up or manage your Takeout settings, follow the steps below:
Eats365 POS
- Log in to the Eats365 POS.
- At the top left, tap Settings .
- Under Settings, tap Takeout.
- Configure your preferred Takeout settings.
- At the top right, tap Save to confirm.
Below is the list of settings that you can set up and manage on the POS:

Takeout Charge
Service Boundary
Set a limit on the allowed delivery distance.
Enable Delivery Fee
When enabled, the POS adds a delivery charge to the total order amount.
You can set a standard delivery fee or set a delivery fee for different order amounts and distances.
- Standard delivery fee - Set a fixed delivery fee.
- Conditional delivery fee - Set a different delivery fee depending on the condition. For example, you can set a "No delivery fee" rule for orders that exceed a certain amount.
Suggested Tip
Set a suggested tip amount.

Pickup Order
Pickup Order Preparation Time (mins)
Tickets will be sent to the kitchen based on the duration you set.
Conditional Order Preparation Time
Set a different delivery order preparation time depending on the condition. You can set a conditional order preparation time for the following:
- Operation Time Slot - Sets the date and time when the specific preparation time is applied. For example, you may create a rule where every lunch period, the preparation time for orders meant for pick-up is shorter and set to 5 minutes.
- Order Total - Sets a range based on the order total when the specific preparation time is applied. For example, you may create a rule where orders totaling to $100 would require a longer preparation time due to having more menu Items to prepare.
Delivery Order
Delivery Order Preparation Time (mins)
Tickets will be sent to the kitchen based on the duration you set.
Conditional Order Preparation Time
Set a different delivery order preparation time depending on the condition. You can set a conditional order preparation time for the following:

Complete Order
Auto Complete Order when Paid
The Auto Complete Order when Paid option controls whether the takeout order becomes Completed or remains as Paid after the check is paid. Turn this setting on if you want to auto-complete the order after payment.
Return Home
Return Home after Payment Processing
When enabled, the POS automatically returns to the order-taking screen after payment. If you turn the setting off, the POS stays at the payment screen so you can perform other actions, like making a tip and printing a receipt.
Order Payment
Require Payment when Placing Order
This setting disables the Confirm button on the POS. When enabled, all orders automatically require payment.
Order
Force Enter Party Size
When enabled, you’ll be able to force enter a party size on the POS.
Delivery Order displayed on Pickup Display
When enabled, delivery orders will be displayed on the Pickup Display.
Auto Add Items when enter party size
When enabled, you can set which items will be automatically added to every open check. For example, if you are at a bar, you might want to automatically add sauces to every order.
Pre-Order
Treat Mid-night Orders as Same Day Order
Allows you to accept pre-orders past midnight and still make the system recognize the order as being made on the same day.
Mid-night Order Cut-Off Time
Set the cut-off time for orders placed past midnight.
Next Operation Period Pre-Order
Refers to advance orders that customers can make for the next operation period. For example, a customer may place an order for pickup or delivery the next day. You can set the following settings:
Allow Cross-day Pre-Order
Enable next operation period pre-order for pickup and delivery orders.
Allow Pickup Order
Allows customers to place pickup pre-orders for the next operation period.
Allow Delivery Order
Allows customers to place delivery pre-orders for the next operation period.
Maximum Days in Advance
Set the maximum number of days that customers can place their orders in advance. For example, if you set the maximum day to “1", customers can place a pre-order for next-day pickup and delivery.
Interval on Selection (mins)
Set the interval to determine how far apart the available time slots should be. For example, if you choose an interval of 60 minutes for the next operation period pre-orders, customers can select a time slot with an interval of 60 minutes or 1 hour. In the POS, it shows up as 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, and so on.
Order Time
Set the time when customers can place pre-orders. By default, the order time is set to opening hours.
Earliest Order Time
Set the earliest time when customers can place pre-orders.
Latest Order Time
Set the latest time when customers can place pre-orders. For example, if you set the latest order time to 17:00, customers won’t be able to place pre-orders beyond the set time.

Allow User App to place Pickup Order
Allows customers to place Pickup orders from the Eats365 User App.
Enable ASAP Order
Allows customers to place rush orders. When enabled, the estimation time will be skipped for the customer.
Minimum Charge
Set the minimum amount that customers must spend to place a pickup order.
Allow Cash on Pickup
Allows customers to pay cash upon picking up their order.
Auto Accept Paid Order
Allows the POS to automatically accept paid orders from the Eats365 User App.
Override Pickup Order Preparation Time
When enabled, you can set a different Pickup Order Preparation Time for orders placed through the Eats365 User App.

Allow User App to place Delivery Order
Allows customers to place Delivery orders from the Eats365 User App.

Allows customers to pre-order from the Eats365 User App. When this is enabled, you can configure different settings for pre-orders placed online.

Allows customers to place pre-orders for pickup.
Allow Delivery Order
Allows customers to place pre-orders for delivery.
Earliest Minutes Allowed
Set the earliest time when customers can schedule their pre-order. For example, if you set the Earliest Minutes Allowed to “60,” customers can schedule pre-orders for delivery or pickup 60 minutes or 1 hour from the current time. If the current time is 8:30 AM, the earliest time that customer can schedule their order is 9:30 AM.

- On the left panel, click on Restaurant Settings. Then, select Takeout.
- Configure your preferred Takeout settings.
- At the top right, click on Save to confirm.

Interval on Selection (mins)
Set the interval to determine how far apart the available time slots should be. For example, if you choose an interval of 60 minutes for the next operation period pre-orders, customers can select a time slot with an interval of 60 minutes or 1 hour. In the POS, it shows up as 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, and so on.
Earliest Order Time
Set the earliest time when customers can place pre-orders.
Last Order Time
Set the latest time when customers can place pre-orders. For example, if you set the latest order time to 17:00, customers won’t be able to place pre-orders beyond the set time.
